Happy Thanksgiving, Liberators!

In November of 1944, American troops each received a serving of Turkey meat, three times larger than their usual meat ration, along with fresh fruit and vegetables for their Thanksgiving dinner.  With the distribution of over 1.6 tons of turkey, this is considered a great feat of distribution during the war.  Although some soldiers did not receive their meals for a day or two past the fourth Thursday of the month, this had a highly favorable effect on the distressed public at large!
